FAQs
General FAQs
What materials does MMC offer for fencing and railing?
MMC provides aluminum and vinyl (polyvinyl/polyvinyl‑clad) fencing and railing systems—none of the wood or chain‑link varieties.
How long will vinyl (PVC) fencing and railing last?
Vinyl products are designed to last a lifetime and resist issues like rot, rust, and pests.
Do vinyl railings really need a warranty?
Manufacturing defects can happen, so a strong warranty (like a transferable lifetime limited warranty for PolyRail) offers peace of mind.
Is aluminum railing maintenance‑free?
Yes! Powder-coated aluminum is weather-resistant, won’t rust or fade, and needs occasional cleaning with soap and water.
What’s included in a railing section?
A typical section includes posts, top/bottom rails, balusters or infill and brackets.
How do I choose the right fence for a project?
Start by defining your purpose—privacy, security, aesthetics—measuring your area, setting a budget, and reviewing local codes or HOA rules.
What’s the proper height for residential railings?
Most handrails should be 34–36 inches high at the stair nosing or surface level. ADA-specific options are also available.
Can aluminum panels adjust to sloped terrain?
Many aluminum systems offer “rackable” panels that adjust to slopes, ensuring no gaps on uneven ground.
Do aluminum and vinyl systems come with gates and accessories?
Definitely! Accessories like gate kits (adjustable or welded), hardware, post caps, and drink rail adapters are all available.
What kind of customer service does MMC provide?
MMC offers free estimates, helpful installation guides, nationwide shipping, professional installation services in Southwest Missouri, and ongoing support.

What kind of warranty do you offer with aluminum products?
All DSI aluminum products offer a lifetime limited warranty against defects in workmanship and materials and that, in the course of normal and proper use, DSI aluminum products will not crack, peel, blister, flake, rust, nor be subject to abnormal weathering per AAMA 2604 Specifications.
Vinyl FAQs
What is polyvinyl? What is PVC?
Crude oil, natural gas, and chloride are the raw materials used in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. Vinyl compound is formulated from raw materials that include PVC resin, UV inhibitors (TiO2), impact modifiers, stabilizers, and toners.
PVC is probably best known as the plumbing pipe at the hardware store. The plumbing in your house is probably PVC pipe, unless it's an older home. There's more to PVC than just pipe. Vinyl siding and vinyl windows used on homes are made of polyvinyl chloride, as are Digger Specialties, Inc. vinyl products. Inside the home, PVC is used to make linoleum for the floor. PVC is useful because it resists two things that hate each other: fire and water. Because of its water resistance, it is used to make raincoats, shower curtains, and of course, water pipes. It also has flame resistance because it contains chlorine, which inhibits combustion.
How is polyvinyl fence railing and decking made?
Polyvinyl fence is made of essentially the same material as vinyl siding and vinyl windows, NOT PVC pipe. The difference being that PVC pipe does use some of the same ingredients but does not have the weatherability and strength found in siding, windows, and fence.
How long will polyvinyl fencing last?
Polyvinyl fences are designed to last a lifetime. Please feel free to view our Warranty area for more information.
